Why cloudy headlights are worth fixing
Headlight lenses are clear plastic with a thin factory coating that protects them from UV. After a few years of New Zealand sun that coating breaks down, the plastic oxidises, and the lens turns hazy and yellow. It is one of the fastest ways for an otherwise clean car to look old, and it genuinely reduces how far your lights throw at night.
Restoration fixes both problems. We machine-sand and polish the lens through progressive grades to cut back the oxidised layer, then refine it to a clear finish. The lights look new again and, more importantly, they put more light on the road.
Polish, or polish plus coat
A straight polish from $80 removes the haze and yellowing and restores clarity. It is the right call if you want a quick, affordable refresh.
For a result that lasts, add the UV protective coat ($150 total). The coat reseals the lens so it does not haze straight back up, getting you a couple of years of clear headlights rather than months. We will recommend the right option once we see the condition of your lenses. Headlight restoration pairs well with a cut and polish or a full groom if you want the whole car sharpened up at once.
